About Me
I'm Dontae, and it is nice to meet you. I'm from a small town and looking to be a part of a large world. I have a background in machining technology, and it's a fancy title for making custom parts with a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machine. I worked ask a machinist for 14 years before deciding it wasn't for me, and then started working as a calibrations technologist. I worked as a calibration technologist for 3 years and got bored while working there. While working the job, I knew I wanted something that was challenging, thought-provoking, and rewarding. I currently work as a Strategic Process Improvement practitioner, and this job has allowed me to realize what I want out of life and the freedom to focus on a degree.
I'm sure you're curious about how I figured out what meant the most to me and how I knew what I wanted out of life. I focused on my roots and what I wanted to do before going to school to become a machinist. It was working with computers, but I had to think long and hard about what field of focus I was interested in. It was information technology because it allowed me to work with others to solve problems and was rewarding at the end of each day. There will be days where I may go home scratching my head because I didn't solve an issue, but it will allow me to return the next day, knowing I have challenges ahead. I was first introduced to information technology skills in high school. I was enrolled in a computer technology course in a vocational school but decided not to follow through with it due to my focus on sports. A degree in information technology will allow me to recalibrate and follow my dream and provide me options of living abroad or working remotely.
Do you know your career goals and or your life's purpose??
